I have finally found “my” gym… a place that I truly enjoy going

As an “active”, outdoors-y gal, I have always enjoyed being “fit” enough to partake in various mud runs and local races and hold my own in most any sport… but I, like most, struggled to find a workout regimen that I could stick to. I often found myself at the gym, only to spend 30 minutes doing cardio, but then too overwhelmed on what I should do next, or too shy to try and “work in” with the weights that I would just call it a day and go home. I always left feeling frustrated with myself, and unhappy with what I saw in the mirror.

But then I met the people at PEAK Athletics, and their influences on my fitness has been AMAZING! At the encouragement of a friend, I began taking a group class once a week in February, which means I didn’t have to come up with my own circuits/workouts, I just needed to follow along! For the first few weeks, I was a hot mess afterward… everything was so SORE, and my front steps were my greatest weakness (y’all know what I mean)! But with their support and my determination, I stuck with it, and have gradually worked my way up to 3 classes a week! I feel better and stronger than ever, both physically and mentally, and I have been getting compliments on my newly tone legs and arms… YAY!

I have finally found “my” gym… a place that I truly enjoy going, where I feel comfortable working out, am never bored because the workouts are always changing, and I have the support that I need to stick with it. The groups are small, so you never feel like just a number. They know your name and encourage each person to push themselves just a little bit harder… and if your form is off, they will help you correct it. They always keep it fun and energetic, and even on my worst days, I feel better afterward and leave with a smile on my face.
